The Full Story
How it Started...
Wicklow Mattress Recycling started as a Transition Year Mini Company just over 10 years ago, During that time, James (me) disassembled each mattress by hand, segregating the fabrics and springs and recycling each component separately through 3rd parties recycling companies. During my years studying in IADT, Dun Laoghaire, I developed the idea further, with Wicklow Mattress Recycling being the centrepiece of the majority of assignments and projects - learning how to market, develop and further progress the concept into a 'real' business.
How it's Going...
Today, we are a fully insured and licensed social enterprise dedicated to providing an efficient, hassle-free door to door service for the collection and recycling of beds, mattresses, and sofas. We work closely with Cirtex (Textile upcycling business) to ensure all items are processed through eco-friendly recycling methods. Mattresses are fully recycled and returned to the mattress production cycle through our authorised partner facilities. We operate door to door collections in County Wicklow, South Dublin and surrounding areas.
